Specific equipment, not generalities. This is what we assemble your electronic devices on

For well over a decade we have run SMD electronics assembly exclusively on Yamaha pick&place machines. That guarantees precision and repeatability for prototype runs and volume production alike.

  • Yamaha, Heller and ERSA SMD lines flexible changeovers for short and long runs
  • Automated optical inspection (AOI) MEK / Marantz after every assembly run
  • ERSA wave soldering and EBSO selective wave for THT assembly
  • ERP system with full traceability of components, batches and processes

From enquiry to delivery in five predictable steps

You know what is happening with your project at every stage. Clear arrangements and production measured against deadlines.

  1. Enquiry and quotation

You send the documentation: BOM, Gerber files and planned quantities. We prepare a specific manufacturing quote and a schedule.

  2. Design review

We check the design for series production. We advise on changes that lower costs and improve reliability.

  3. Components and PCBs

We order the parts and boards and keep supply continuous. Larger PCB batches are stocked for your next orders.

  4. Assembly and inspection

SMD and THT electronics assembly on Yamaha lines, followed by AOI inspection and quality control logged in the system.

  5. Testing and delivery

We program the devices, run functional tests, fit them into enclosures and deliver a product ready for sale.

Why Convel

What you gain by moving your electronics production to us

We do not promise everything. We deliver the four things that matter most in contract electronics manufacturing.

Deadlines you can budget around
We deliver on the agreed dates and secure component supply well in advance. Your sales never wait for production.
Quality backed by process
AOI inspection, logged quality control and batch traceability in ERP. You know what was assembled, when, and from which parts.
A partner, not an anonymous subcontractor
You talk to people who know your project. We recommend design changes and act before a problem reaches the line.
The whole process under one roof
From design and PCBs to testing and packaging. Fewer subcontractors means less risk, faster time to market and a single accountable supplier.
Questions and answers

Before you outsource electronics manufacturing

Answers to the questions contract manufacturing customers ask us most often.

What is contract electronics manufacturing (EMS)?
It is a model in which the company that owns a product outsources its manufacturing to a specialised producer: electronics manufacturing to order, in short. An EMS company (Electronics Manufacturing Services) such as Convel supplies the boards and components, assembles the electronics in SMD and THT technology, tests the devices and prepares them for sale. You keep the design, the brand and the customers; the manufacturer takes on production, the machine park and quality control.
What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
We handle high-volume production as well as smaller runs and prototype batches. Batch size and unit costs are agreed at the quotation stage.
Do you also manufacture electronics to order for small companies and start-ups?
Yes. Electronics manufacturing to order at Convel often starts with a pilot run of a few dozen units, after which we plan the actual production together with the customer. We also help tidy up the documentation if the design was created outside a series-production environment.
What should I prepare for an assembly quote?
We can quote fastest when you send the bill of materials (BOM), Gerber production files, assembly documentation and the planned batch sizes. If the documentation is incomplete, we will help you complete it.
What is the difference between SMD and SMT assembly?
In practice, none. SMT is the name of the surface-mount technology; SMD is the name of the components made for it. Both terms describe the same service, which at Convel we carry out on Yamaha pick&place machines with AOI inspection of every batch.
Do you do SMD and THT assembly on the same board?
Yes, that is the most common case. The board first goes through the SMD line, then to through-hole assembly stations with wave or selective-wave soldering. Both stages take place on one shop floor, without shipping boards between plants.
Do you supply electronic components?
Yes. Thanks to long-standing relationships with distributors we supply the full range of components, including niche and hard-to-find parts. We match the component supply model to the specifics of the project.
How do you ensure assembly quality?
Every board goes through quality control after assembly, including automated optical inspection (AOI). The inspection process is logged in the production management system, and the ERP system provides full traceability of components and batches.
Will you help refine the design before series production?
Yes. We review documentation and prototypes for series production, advise on component selection and propose design changes that lower costs and improve device reliability.
Do you handle complete device assembly, not just PCBs?
Yes. We fit PCBs into enclosures, integrate displays and keypads, program the devices, run functional tests, label and package the products. Devices can leave our plant ready for sale.
Where do you manufacture, and can we visit the plant?
All production takes place at our plant in Warsaw, at Kopijników 75A. You are welcome to see the shop floor and the machine park once a visit has been arranged.
