Final assembly is the last stage, where assembled and tested electronics become a product: with an enclosure, label, serial number, manual and packaging, ready to ship to the end customer. At Convel we carry it out in full. Devices leave our shop floor in Warsaw ready to be sold straight away, and the data identifying each unit reaches your system before the pallet arrives at the warehouse.
What final assembly covers
- enclosure assembly and integration of displays, keypads, antennas, batteries and cabling (details on the enclosure assembly page),
- labelling to the customer’s specification: product labels, rating plates, CE marking and other markings required by law, logistics labels,
- barcodes, QR codes and serial numbers generated to your numbering scheme and printed on or programmed into the device,
- handover of the data identifying the products (serial numbers, MAC addresses, IMEI, test results) to the customer’s system in an agreed format,
- kitting of sets: power supplies, cables, accessories, manuals, warranty cards,
- packaging and packing into unit and bulk packaging (more on the product packaging page).
Why have final assembly done at your electronics manufacturer
Placing final assembly with a separate company looks like a saving until you count the transport, the repeat inspection, the discussions about responsibility and the time. When the whole process, from SMD assembly to packing, sits in one plant, the device does not leave the shop floor until it is ready, a fault goes back to its source within hours, and you settle one invoice and one deadline. Traceability in our ERP covers the entire route: from the component batch, through the board and the test, to the serial number on the label.
Numbering, data and integration with your system
Every device is given a serial number to your scheme and, if you do not have one, we will help you design it so that it is readable for service and logistics. Numbers, codes and identifiers (the MAC addresses of radio modules, for example) are recorded in the production system and passed on in files or through an interface to your ERP, shop or service platform. That way the product is “visible” in your systems the moment it leaves our shop floor.
Inspection before dispatch
Before packing we check that the set is complete, that the labels match the device, that the codes are legible and that the packaging is intact. Along the way the devices have already been through AOI inspection and functional testing, so the final inspection concerns what the customer sees: the product, not the board.
Non-standard services
There are requirements that appear in no price list: special markings for a particular market, enclosing personalised materials, packing for a specific retail chain, tamper-evident protection. We describe them as non-standard operations, agree the inspection and build them into the process.
Frequently asked questions about final assembly
Do you deliver devices ready to be sold?
Yes. With the enclosure, labels, serial number, accessories and packaging, to your specification.
Will you pass serial numbers into our system?
Yes, in an agreed format: a CSV/XLSX file or an integration with your system. The data covers serial numbers, codes, module identifiers and test results, if you need them.
Can you ship products directly to our customers?
We ship to the address you give us: your warehouse, a logistics centre or, once the process has been agreed, end recipients.
Does final assembly also cover sets with accessories?
Yes. We kit power supplies, cables, manuals and other items according to the customer’s kitting list.
